Craftsmen Training Scheme under NCVT was introduced in 1950 for imparting training in various vocational trades to meet the skilled manpower requirement for technological and industrial growth of the nation. The objective of the scheme is
* To ensure steady flow of skilled workers.
* To raise the quality and quantity of Industrial production by systematic training of potential work force.
* To reduce unemployment among educated youth by equipping them suitably for industrial employment. To meet the requirement of skilled manpower in the Industrial sectors. KITC is committed to train the young students of Orissa in job prospective trades as per training structure prescribed by DGE &T, Min. of Labour, Govt. of India, New Delhi. KITC is offering training programme in Engineering trades which are affiliated by NCVT. The aim of training Engineering trades is to equip the trainees for suitable industrial employment. The duration of training is two years.
